Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS) is broadly evangelical seminary community united around the gospel of the life, death, resurrection, and return of Christ Jesus.
We offer educational programs that prepare men and women to engage in God’s redemptive work in the world in many global and vocational contexts, such as counseling, academic teaching and writing, pastoral leadership, and missional service in increasingly diverse contexts. Coursework is available on our Deerfield campus and online.
Our dean, Graham A. Cole, often says that the TEDS experience consists of “hospitable evangelicalism.” We follow the centuries’ old adage: in the essentials unity, in the non-essentials liberty, and in all things charity. Here you will find different denominational and theological traditions teaching, studying, serving, and worshiping together within an institution committed to the authority of scripture and the saving gospel proclaimed through it. The faculty remains faithful to God’s revelation in the gospel of Christ and reliant on the Holy Spirit—all with an eye on caring for and nurturing the church. Students and faculty are drawn to TEDS not only from all over North America, but from every continent in the world.
These emphases—gospel centrality, inerrant Scripture, excellent evangelical scholarship that truly engages culture, and service to the church—have continually defined the TEDS community since its formal inception more than fifty years ago.
TEDS is part of Trinity International University, which educates men and women to engage in God’s redemptive work in the world by cultivating academic excellence, Christian faithfulness, and lifelong learning.
