The Thrive Center is committed to helping students cultivate their academic excellence, become life-long learners, and pursue their personal and professional goals. Our goal is to walk alongside students, meeting them where they are and providing services that will help them thrive in all aspects of their learning experience. To this end, we provide services in the areas of academic support, academic guidance, and career development.

Academic Support

Services to help students become a more efficient, effective, and engaged learner

Language tutoring: One-on-one or group tutoring for Greek and Hebrew

Student Accessibility Resources: Appropriate and reasonable accommodations, or academic adjustments, for students with documented disabilities

Testing Center: TIU and non-TIU test proctoring

  • Make-up exams/quizzes
  • Testing accommodations

Writing Assistance Services: Writing services to help students improve their academic writing skills, and to assist them in the writing process.

  • General review and editing
  • ESL student line editing
  • Line editing – proofreading service (fee)

Additional Services

Academic Peer Advising: Guidance in course scheduling, program requirements, and program completion planning

Career Development: Full-time and part-time job search assistance for students and their spouses

Family Enrichment & Tutoring Program: Academic tutoring and enrichment programs for grade school children of TIU students (Pre K4 – 12th grade)

  • Family Tutoring – One-on-one, 30-minute/45-minute tutoring sessions for grade school students
  • Kindergarten Enrichment – group-based, activity-centered program for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students
