Registration Calendar

Registration dates and periods of enrollment for Distance Education courses vary based on enrollment status as well as location.

Full-time students on the Deerfield campus must enroll in and complete their DE courses in conjunction with the Academic Calendar for each semester. Visiting students, those enrolled at extension sites, and part-time students on the Deerfield campus can enroll in DE courses at any time and must complete their courses six months from their date of enrollment.

Full-time Deerfield Campus Students

Full-time students on the Deerfield campus who wish to enroll in DE courses should register online, adhering to the registration time frames and procedures in place for all of their TEDS courses. Coursework must be completed during the semester of enrollment and is subject to the same policies applied to traditional courses. Extensions must be applied for through the Dean of Students’ office.

Up to five DE courses may be applied to TEDS programs; students should review the graduation requirements for their degree in the academic catalog for any limits, as well as discuss any class enrollments with their advisor.

Extension, Visiting or Part-Time Deerfield Campus Students

Students enrolling in courses through extension sites, as visiting students, or as part-time Deerfield campus students should register online through the DE Office. Registration is based on rolling admission, thus students may submit a registration and begin their coursework any day of the year. Students have six months from the day of enrollment to complete the course. On a certain date each semester registration will switch from one semester to the next, however, the semester in which a student enrolls for a course is the semester to which their course grade will be applied. Visiting students may enroll in a maximum of nine hours per semester.

Students may drop or withdraw from a course and receive a refund dependent upon the time frame in which they withdraw. The following refund information is based on a schedule which begins the day a student is placed in their DE course:

  • At 30 days or less a student may drop their course and receive a full refund
  • At 60 days or less a student may drop their course and receive a 75% refund
  • At 90 days or less a student may drop their course and receive a 50% refund
  • After 90 days the student is fully responsible, both academically and financially, for their course(s)

This time frame does not apply to full-time Deerfield students.
