Student Ambassador, Graduate Admissions
B.A. – Business Administration, University of Florida
Mitchell was born and raised in Florida and still loves warm Florida winters. Before moving to Chicago to attend Trinity, he attended the University of Florida where he was actively involved in campus ministry and his church, and had many opportunities to disciple students, to lead small groups, and to preach. Each of these experiences developed Mitchell’s passion for ministry; and with the affirmation of pastors, mentors and friends, he began to pursue a call to ministry.
Mitchell is passionate about preaching, developing leaders, and entering into the messy parts of life with those around him. While he has experience in these areas of ministry, Mitchell realized that formal training in Theology, Biblical Studies, Counseling, and Preaching are essential in order to be an effective minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. So, after interning for a year at the church he attended during college, Mitchell moved to Chicago in the summer of 2012 in order to be trained for pastoral ministry at TEDS.
Since he started at TEDS, Mitchell quickly became involved in campus life and served as a Graduate Resident Assistant where he met his wife Rebecca. He has really enjoyed the friendships he has developed, the professors he has learned from, and the ways he has been challenged to love the Lord more deeply at TEDS. Mitchell hopes that his experience will be helpful for others in discerning where the Lord is leading them. Upon graduation Mitchell hopes to serve in a local church as a pastor, ministering to God’s flock through the Word and the gospel.
